On the left, below the UNESCO organization logo, is a two-line inscription fifty euro '50 EURO', below which is the mint year '2015', framed by a cornucopia – the symbol of the Paris Mint – and a pentagon – the mark of the chief engraver of the workshop, Yves Sampo. In the lower part is a stylized depiction of the river with two dots indicating the locations of the monuments.
  • Obverse
In the center is an allegorical depiction of the Seine River; in its waters is the name of the country 'Republic of France' in French 'REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE'. On one side of the river is depicted the facade of the 'Grand Palais', above it the glass dome of its hall. On the other side is depicted the 'Hôtel des Invalides', with an element of the vault of this building.
