    The central part features a cartouche with a simplified State Emblem of the Russian Empire. A double-headed eagle with raised, spread wings. The eagle's heads are crowned with two coronets, a third, larger crown above them. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Above the cartouche is the year of minting — '1755'.

    The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Empress Elizabeth I (Petrovna). Around the portrait, along the rim, the inscription: B•M•ELISAVET•I•IMP•ISAMOD•VSEROS• In the lower part, beneath the portrait, is the abbreviation 'S P B' (Saint Petersburg Mint).
