Reverse In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of an iron arch bridge, with a palm tree on the left. Above, horizontally, the English text '1 PESEWA'.
Obverse In the central part is the coat of arms of Ghana. It is a heraldic shield divided into four parts by a cross, with a leopard in the center. In the quarters of the shield: top – a sword (left), a castle (right), standing on a base of two wavy narrow bands; bottom – a cocoa tree (left) and a mine (right). Above the shield, a five-pointed star stands on a torse; on the sides of the shield are eagles; at the base, the motto in English 'Freedom and Justice'. Along the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top the country name 'GHANA', at the bottom the year of minting '2007'.
