Reverse In the central part, a Blue-crowned Motmot bird is depicted facing left, sitting on a branch, with tree leaves on each side of the bird. In the upper part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is the English text 'TWENTY-FIVE CENTS'. The rim of the coin features decorative raised dots.
Obverse In the central part, the coat of arms of Belize. It consists of: a heraldic shield divided into three parts, in the left part crossed axe and paddle are depicted, in the right – an axe and a saw, in the lower part – a sailing ship. Above the shield, on a torse, stands a tree; supporters flank the shield: on the left holding an axe over the shoulder, on the right – a paddle. At the base of the arms is the Latin motto 'SUB UMBRA FLOREO' (Under the shade I flourish). Above the arms is the country name in English 'BELIZE', below it the year of minting '1974'. The border of the arms is formed by twenty pairs of leaves, closed in a circle. To the right of the arms is the Franklin Mint mintmark 'f'. Along the rim are elements in the form of dots.
