    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a horse facing left. Along the arc of the left and upper edge of the coin is an inscription in Irish: «leat coróin», which translates as: «With you a crown». Under the horse's rear hooves is the monogram «PM» - the mark of engraver Percy Metcalfe. Along the arc of the lower edge is the inscription: «2s6d» - 2 shillings 6 pence (1/2 crown). The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
