In the central part is the coat of arms of Belize. It consists of: a heraldic shield divided into three parts, with crossed axe and paddle on the left, axe and saw on the right, and a sailing ship in the lower part. Above the shield, on a torse, stands a tree; supporters flank the shield: on the left holding an axe over the shoulder, on the right a paddle. At the base of the arms is the Latin motto 'SUB UMBRA FLOREO' (Under the shade I flourish). Above the arms is the country name in English 'BELIZE', below it the year of minting '1974'. The border of the arms is formed by twenty pairs of leaves, closed in a circle. To the right of the arms is the Franklin Mint mintmark 'f'. Along the rim are elements in the form of dots.
