    In the central part, a large numeral 2 on the left, with the English inscription 'EURO' to its right, translating to '2 Euro'. Below the letter 'O' is the engraver's mark of Luc Luycx 'LL'. The inscription is placed over the outlines of a map of Europe. From these outlines, six vertical parallel lines extend upwards and downwards, with 12 stars at their ends.

    Along the rim on the outer ring, 12 stars of the European Union are evenly distributed. On the inner disc, a dove of peace is depicted with a branch of small stars in its beak. Above it, along the circumference of the disc in seven lines, are the two-letter codes of the twenty-eight European Union states according to the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 standard. To the right above the bird's wing is the mint year '2015'. To the left below the wing are the mintmarks of the Paris Mint (cornucopia) and its Chief Engraver Yves Sampo (pentagon). At the bottom, the symbols 'RF'—the sign for France on European Union coins.
