    The central part features the coat of arms of Ecuador: an oval shield depicting the Chimborazo volcano, the Guayas River, a ship, and above them a sun flanked by astrological signs; a condor with outstretched wings stands atop the shield; two Ecuadorian flags flank the shield, with a laurel branch on the left and a palm leaf on the right between them; fasces are below. Around the arms are inscriptions in Spanish: 'G. 8.136' (8.136 grams), 'DIEZ SUCRES' (Ten Sucre), the metal fineness 'LEY 0.900', and below, the mint mark 'BIRMINGHAM'. Beneath the fasces are the Latin letters 'J.M'. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    The central part features the left-facing profile of the Grand Marshal of Peru, Antonio José Francisco de Sucre y Alcalá. Inscriptions along the rim: on the left, top, and right, the country name in Spanish 'REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR' (Republic of Ecuador); at the bottom, the year of issue '1900'. The coin's edge is decorated with raised decorative denticles.
