In the central part of the reverse is a relief image facing left of the book's main character, the wizard Gandalf, riding a horse. Along the arc of the lower edge, a two-line inscription: '1 KROWN' - one crown, separated from the design by a semicircle. The inscriptions are separated by two pairs of four-pointed stars.
