To the left and right of the regalia, a wreath of laurel and oak branches is depicted. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon, the knot of which forms a bow. The rim of the coin is decorated with denticles.

    The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Alexander III. In the truncation of the neck are the medallist's initials: 'L SH' — Leopold Shteinman. Around the portrait, the text: B.M. ALEXANDER III EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIA. Below the portrait, the text: CROWNED IN MOSCOW. Below the inscription is the date — '1883'. The rim is decorated with denticles.
