    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a reclining lynx. Along the upper edge of the coin from left to right is the inscription: 'ENDANGERED WORLD WILDLIFE'. Along the lower edge, separated by dots, is the English inscription: '50 DOLLARS'.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II. On the truncation of the neck is the monogram 'RDM' of the engraver Raphael David Maklouf. Below the truncation is the producer's (mint) mark 'PM' for Pobjoy. To the left and right along the rim are the English inscriptions: 'ELIZABETH II' and 'COOK ISLANDS'. At the bottom near the rim is the year of mintage, 1990.
