  • Reverse
    A six-pointed star is described around the central hole. The inscription 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA' runs along the upper edge from left to right. The mint year '1933' is at the bottom, flanked on each side by a dot. The rim is decorated with ornamental denticles.
  • Obverse
    Central hole. Around it, the inscription 'ONE HALFPENNY' in English above and 'نُصْف پَنّي' (nusf penny) in Arabic below. Beneath the hole are the Latin letters 'KN', the mintmark for King's Norton Metal, Birmingham. Along the rim, split into two parts, is the Latin legend 'GEORGIVS V' on the left and 'REX ET IND: IMP:' (King and Emperor of India) on the right, with a stylized ornament below each part. A crown, symbol of the British Empire, is at the top. The edge is decorated with raised ornamental denticles.
