On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow: a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is on the right). The eagle holds thunderbolts and a torch in its right talon and a laurel wreath in its left, both entwined with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. Below the eagle is the year of mintage: "1830.".
