Obverse In the central part, a depiction of Liberty seated on a throne adorned with lion heads, holding a torch in her left hand and a cornucopia in her right. Near her left foot, the letters 'G.B.BAZOR' - the privy mark of Paris Mint engraver Lucien Georges Bazor. Below it, separated by a horizontal line, the mint year: 1977, flanked by the Paris Mint marks - a cornucopia and a dolphin. To the left and right of her are the French abbreviations 'IE' and 'OM' respectively, standing for: L'Institut d'Emission d'Outre-Mer. To the left and right along the rim, the country name in French: 'REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE'.
