  • Reverse
    In the upper and right parts of the coin, an old French silver testoon is depicted from both sides. The obverse of the testoon features a portrait of Francis I facing right, the reverse shows the coat of arms of France from 1376-1515. Against this background, the two-line inscription '50 EURO' is placed. Below and to the left along the rim is a toothed pattern that was minted on testoons.

    In the central part is the figure of the Sower facing left, who splits the mint year '2016' into two parts. Her right arm is extended back, below it are the letters 'RF' - French Republic (République Française), her left arm supports a sack of grain. To the left is a pattern of horizontal lines, to the right - vertical lines. Along the edge of the coin are twelve five-pointed stars, the bottom star is flanked: on the left by a cornucopia (the mark of the Paris Mint), on the right by a pentagon – the mark of the Chief Engraver of the Paris Mint, Yves Sampo.
