    In the central part is a three-masted sailing ship facing left. To its right is the monogram 'HP' - the mark of engraver Thomas Humphrey Paget. In the upper part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is the English text: 'HALF PENNY'. Along the lower edge curve is the mint year 1967, flanked by curved lines. The coin's edge features decorative dentils.

    In the central part is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II. Around the edge of the coin, divided by a cross, is the inscription: 'ELIZABETH.II.DEI.GRATIA.REGINA.F:D:', which translates from English as 'Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God Queen, Defender of the Faith'. The coin's edge features decorative dentils.
