  • Reverse
    The central part features the denomination—the numeral 3. The denomination is enclosed within a linear circle. Around the circle is the inscription: around the denomination—'МЕѢНАЯ РОССIИСКЯ МОНЕТА' (COPPER RUSSIAN COIN), below in a semicircle—'КОПѢИКИ' (KOPEKS). The inscriptions are separated from each other by two five-pointed stars.
  • Obverse
    The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle. Both eagle heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned above and between the heads. All are connected by the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. On the eagle's breast is the Moscow coat of arms—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious with a spear, slaying a dragon. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. The coats of arms on the wings (four on each wing): Kazan, Polish, Taurida, Astrakhan, Siberian, Georgian, Kiev and Novgorod, Vladimir. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, and in the left, an orb. To the left of the eagle, the inscription in a semicircle—'LE NICKEL', to the right—'SPECIMEN ALL: 25 ⦁ 75'. Below the eagle is the minting date—'1882'.
