    The central part features a left-facing profile portrait of the Austrian composer and opera and symphony conductor Gustav Mahler. In the exergue is the composer's facsimile signature, below it the years marking the 150th anniversary of his birth '1860-2010'. At the bottom is the engraver's mark 'OJ' - Josef Oplištil.

    In the left part, along the edge of the coin, is the country name 'Czech Republic' in Czech 'ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA'. Below is a two-line inscription '200 korun' - '200 KČ' and the mark of the Czech Mint - 'CM'. Depicted is a sheet of music with an excerpt from the Adagietto of Gustav Mahler's 5th Symphony in C-sharp minor. Below the music sheet is the engraver's mark 'CM' - Miroslava Čerslová.
