In the central part, a beaver sits on a dam. To its left is the monogram 'KG' of engraver George Edward Kruger-Gray, below it the country name Canada in English - 'CANADA' and the year of issue (from 2004 to 2011). At the top along the rim is the inscription: '5 five cents', in English - '5 cents', framed by two maple leaves.
Obverse
On the left and right edges, the text 'ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA'. Translation: 'Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, Queen', in the center a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (the so-called fourth type), facing right. Below the Queen is the emblem of designer Susanna Blunt.
