In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, text in Pashto: "كابل" - "KABUL". In the central part is the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Afghanistan - a mosque with a mihrab and minbar inside a pulpit. Below it is the number: "١٣١٦" - "1316" - the year according to the Solar Hijri calendar, corresponding to 1937 in the Gregorian calendar. To the left, below, and to the right along the rim is a wreath of wheat tied with a ribbon.

In the central part, an inscription in Pashto in 3 lines: " المتوكل على الله محمد ظاهر شاه" - "BY THE GRACE OF ALLAH, MOHAMMED ZAHIR SHAH". To the left and right along the rim are depicted ears of wheat, which intersect in the center and are joined by a seal. At the top is the name of the country Afghanistan in Pashto: "افغانستان".
