In the central part, an inscription in four lines: 'MACUTAS 6' - 6 macutas, surrounded by three four-petaled flowers of two types (two and one in quantity) and a laurel wreath. To the right, bottom, and left, an inscription in Portuguese: 'AFRICA.PORTUGUEZA', translated as 'Portuguese Africa'. At the top along the rim, the minting year 1784, separated from the inscription by two four-petaled flowers with dots on the sides. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
Obverse
In the central part, the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Portugal. To the right, bottom, and left along the edge, text in Latin: 'MARIA.I.E.PETRUS.III.D.G.REGENTES.P.E.D.GUINEÆ', the titles of the Portuguese monarchs Maria I and Peter III. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
