In the central part - a tughra. To its right is the numeral: "۱/۲" - "1/2". Along the arcs of the left and right edges of the coin are two wheat ears which cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow.
Obverse
In the central part is depicted the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Afghanistan - a mosque with a mihrab and minbar inside a pulpit. Below it is the numeral: "۱۳۴۸" - "1348" - the Hijri year corresponding to 1929 in the Gregorian calendar - the beginning of the reign of Mohammed Nadir Shah. A wreath of wheat is positioned along the left, bottom, and right edges of the rim.
