    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a rhinoceros facing right. Along the upper edge of the coin, an inscription from left to right: 'Endangered World Wildlife'. Along the lower edge, separated by dots, the inscription in English: '50 DOLLARS'.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II. On the truncation of the neck is the monogram 'RDM' of the engraver Raphael David Maklouf. Below the truncation is the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'PM' for Pobjoy. To the left and right along the rim are inscriptions in English: 'ELIZABETH II' and 'COOK ISLANDS'. At the bottom near the rim is the year of issue 1990.
