    Three five-pointed stars are depicted along the upper edge arc. In the central part, there is a three-line inscription in Ottoman Turkish: "ضرب في مصر", which translates to: "STRUCK IN EGYPT". Below is the year of accession to the throne of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II in Indo-Arabic numerals: "۱۳۲۷" - 1327 AH (Islamic calendar) or 1909 AD. Above is the number: "۲" - "2", signifying the 2nd year of reign or 1910 AD. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim.
