Along the upper edge of the coin from left to right, the text in English 'EAST AFRICA & UGANDA PROTECTORATES'. The rim is decorated with decorative denticles.

    In the central part is the left-facing profile of King George V of Great Britain. Along the edge of the coin runs the Latin inscription 'GEORGIVS V REX ET IND: IMP:', which translates to 'GEORGE V KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA'. The rim features decorative raised denticles.
