    In the central part, against a background of a floral pattern of flowers and leaves, the inscription in two lines '100 FRANCS'. From left to right, the inscription 'UNION MONETAIRE OUEST-AFRICAINE' (West African Monetary Union). Along the arc of the lower edge, the mint year '1967', flanked on the left by a cornucopia (mint mark of the Paris Mint) and on the right by an owl (privy mark of Mint Director Raymond Joly).

    In the central part, the emblem of the BCEAO - a sawfish. Below the emblem (on the left) the engraver's privy mark 'RJ' for Raymond Joly. Along the arc of the coin's edge runs the text 'BANQUE CENTRALE DES ETATS DE L'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST' (Central Bank of the West African States).
