Reverse In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a city panorama with the Assumption Chapel in the background, above it – the coat of arms of the city of Kem, in the foreground – boats on the river, around the circumference – inscriptions at the top – 'ANCIENT CITIES OF RUSSIA', at the bottom – 'KEM'.
Obverse At the top along the rim are the words BANK OF RUSSIA, at the bottom the minting year '2004', on the left side is an olive branch, and on the right an oak branch. Both branches slightly overlap the central insert. In the central part, the denomination is indicated – the number '10', and below it the currency unit – 'RUBLES'. Inside the digit '0', depending on the viewing angle, one can see the inscriptions '10' and 'RUB'. Above the minting year is the mint mark 'SPMD' (Saint Petersburg Mint).
