    In the central part of the reverse is a relief depiction of a view of the city and beaches from the height of the fortress wall (left). On the right, on a mirrored sea background, are the inscriptions SUDAK / 1800 / YEARS and the city's coat of arms.

    In the upper part of the obverse is the Trident (the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine) and the arc inscription NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE. Below it is the coin's year of issue 2012 (right), a fragment of a 15th-century relief depicting St. George the Victorious, found during excavations in the Genoese fortress, set against a wall section on the right. On the left is a stylized grapevine. At the bottom is the inscription 5 / HRYVEN and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
