    In the central part is a double-headed eagle with spread wings; the eagle's heads are within a halo, above them a crown; on its breast is the crowned coat of arms of Austria. Beneath the eagle's claws are Latin letters: on the left 'C∙', on the right 'A∙'. Along the edge of the coin is a Latin inscription on the right and left: 'ARCHID∙AUST∙DUX∙BURG∙CO∙TYR∙1779∙' (Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, Countess of Tyrol 1779). At the end of the legend is a mark in the shape of the Latin letter 'X'. Below, within a frame, is the numeral 5. The frame is flanked on the right by a palm branch and on the left by a laurel branch. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Archduchess of Austria Maria Theresa Walburga Amalia Christina. To the left of the portrait is a semi-circular palm branch, to the right a semi-circular laurel branch; they are tied together at the bottom with a ribbon forming a bow. Along the edge of the coin is a Latin text on the right and left: 'M∙THERESIA∙D∙G∙R∙IMP∙HU∙BO∙REG∙' (Maria Theresa, by the Grace of God, Roman Empress, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia). At the end of the legend is a cross. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
