Reverse An inscription in the Jawi script is arranged in three lines: at the top - '۴', in the center - 'امڤت کڤڠ', at the bottom - '۱۲۱۹', translating to 'four kepings 1219'. The year is given according to the Hijri (Islamic) calendar. The edge of the coin features decorative elements resembling teeth.
Obverse Along the upper edge, from left to right, is the text 'EAST INDIA COMPANY'. In the center is the coat of arms: lions supporting a quartered shield with one paw and holding a flag with the other. Above the shield is a helmet, surmounted by a lion standing on its hind legs and holding a crown. Below the shield is the motto 'AUSPICIO REGIS & SENATUS ANGLIAE', which translates from Latin as 'UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE KING AND THE SENATE OF ENGLAND'. Below the arms is the date of issue '1804'.
