    In the central part is a double-headed eagle with outstretched wings; the eagle's heads are in a halo, above them a crown; on its chest is a heraldic shield topped with two crowns and framed by a chain. In the eagle's right talon are a sword and scepter, in the left an orb. Below the shield is the empire's highest award. The shield depicts the coats of arms of Hungary, Bohemia, Burgundy, and Tuscany; in the center is a crowned shield with the coats of arms of Austria and Lorraine. Along the edge arc are Latin inscriptions: on the right and left 'ARCH∙AVST∙D∙BVRG∙LOTH∙M∙D∙HET∙1798∙' (Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, Lorraine, Grand Duke of Tuscany 1798). At the end of the legend is a mark in the shape of the Latin letter 'X'. The edge is decorated with decorative teeth.

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Emperor of the Austrian Empire, King of Hungary and Bohemia, Francis II, wearing a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon. Along the edge arc runs a Latin text: on the left, top, and right 'FRANCISCVS II∙D∙G∙R∙IMP∙S∙A∙GERM∙HV∙BO∙REX∙' (Francis II, by the Grace of God, Roman Emperor, Semper Augustus, King of Germany, Hungary, Bohemia). Below is the Latin letter 'A' - the mint mark of Vienna. The coin's rim is decorated with decorative raised dots.
