    In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is the text "FLORIN", flanked by seven-pointed stars, below – the country name "AUSTRALIA". In the central part is the Australian Coat of Arms: a kangaroo and an emu supporting a crowned heraldic shield. To the right of the emu is the personal mark of the English artist George Edward Kruger-Gray - "KG". Below the coat of arms, the year of minting "1947". Along the edge of the coin are decorative elements in the form of denticles and dashes.

    In the central part of the coin is struck the left-facing profile of King George VI of Great Britain. Along the edge of the coin runs the Latin text "GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F:D: IND: IMP.", which translates to "GEORGE VI BY THE GRACE OF GOD KING OF ALL BRITAIN, DEFENDER OF THE FAITH, EMPEROR OF INDIA". The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
