In the central part is the state eagle of Poland, surrounded by the flag of the European Union. Under the eagle's right talon is the mintmark of the Warsaw Mint. Below, flanked by five-pointed stars, is the inscription 10 zlotych - '10 ZŁ', from left to right the country name, and the year of minting 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 2004'.

Obverse

In the central part is an allegorical depiction: the accession of Poland to the European Union. Along the upper edge of the coin runs the text 'ACCESSION OF POLAND TO THE EUROPEAN UNION' in Polish 'WSTAPIENIE POLSKI DU UNII EUROPEJSKIEJ', below it is a five-pointed star.
