Along the rim on the sides is the country name 'SOUTHERN RHODESIA', above - the year of minting '1935', below - 'HALF CROWN' flanked by crosses. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

In the central part of the coin is the left-facing profile of King George V of Great Britain. To the right and left along the rim is the English text 'GEORGE V KING EMPEROR', which translates to 'GEORGE V KING EMPEROR'. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
