In the central part, surrounded by the stars of the Southern Cross constellation, crossed sceptre and sword, above them - a crown. To the left and right, the period of the Federation's existence '1901-1951'. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    In the central part of the coin, the left-facing profile of King George VI of Great Britain is struck. Along the rim runs the inscription 'GEORGIVS VI D:G: BR: OMN: REX FIDEI DEF.', which translates from English as 'GEORGE VI BY THE GRACE OF GOD KING OF ALL BRITAIN DEFENDER OF THE FAITH'. Below the monarch's neck truncation is the designer's mark of the British medallist 'PM' - Percy Metcalfe. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
