    The central part depicts a burning, sinking ship with an airplane flying overhead - an episode from World War II. To the left, under the plane's tail, is a two-line inscription in English: 'WEST AFRIKAN CAMPAING', translated as 'West African Campaign'. To the right, against the sea background, is an image of a military award, above it a two-line inscription in English: 'WORLD WAR II VICTORY MEDAL', translated as 'Victory Medal for World War II'. Along the upper edge arc is the name of the war in English: 'WORLD WAR II'. Along the lower edge arc is the inscription: '$1' - one dollar.
