    The inscription BRITISH WEST AFRICA runs along the upper edge of the coin from left to right. The year of issue, 1927, is at the bottom. In the center is a hole, surrounded by a six-pointed Star of David. The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of denticles.
  • Obverse
    A central hole is present. Around the hole is the denomination inscription: "ONE HALF PENNY" in English on the left, top, and right, and in Arabic script with diacritics "دصف ثني" at the bottom. At the top, along the edge, is the Crown of the British Empire. To the left is the inscription "GEORGIVS V", and to the right "REX ET IND: IMP:", which translate from Latin as "GEORGE V" and "KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA". The edge of the coin is decorated with raised denticles.
