The central part features the denomination: 2. Below it is the name of the monetary unit: "KOPEYKI". Below the name are two pointed lines directed in opposite directions with a dot between them. Under the lines is the abbreviation "S.M." (Suzun Mint).
Obverse
The central part depicts the State Emblem of the Russian Empire - a double-headed eagle with wings spread and lowered. Above the eagle's heads is the Imperial Crown. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow - a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is on the right). The eagle holds thunderbolts and a torch in its right talon and a laurel wreath in its left, both entwined with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. Below the eagle is the year of mintage "1838.".
