Reverse
In the central part, there is an octagonal cartouche with a profile of a young woman in a floral wreath—a symbolic image of Ukraine, based on a design by Heorhiy Narbut from the 1918 State Credit Note. Above the cartouche are figures of five ancient athletes; below it are figures of five modern athletes. To the right of the cartouche is the emblem of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine; to the left is a two-line inscription ATLANTA XXVI. Around the top rim is the inscription FIRST PARTICIPATION IN THE SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES.
Obverse
In the central part is the image of the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine. To its right and left are stylized depictions of stadium stands and laurel leaves. Above the coat of arms is the inscription UKRAINE; below it is 1996—the year of coinage. Around the bottom rim is the denomination: 200000 KARBOVANETS.
