On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The shield is encircled by the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Above the eagle is the mint year — '1740•', divided by the large crown. Below the eagle is the denomination designation — the text: 2 KO divided by the tail. Around the eagle, facing inward, is the text: MONETA•DVE•KOPEIKI•
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Empress Anna Ioannovna. In the lower part, beneath the portrait, is the abbreviation 'S P B' (Saint Petersburg Mint). Around the portrait is the text: ANNA B•M IMPERAT•ISAMODER•VSEROSS•
