    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a Viceroy butterfly alighting on a milk thistle plant. In the upper and right parts of the coin, along the rim, is the inscription: 'ENDANGERED WILDLIFE'. Along the arc of the lower edge is the inscription in English: '50 DOLLARS.'
  • Obverse
    In the central part is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II. On the truncation of the neck is the monogram 'RDM' of the engraver Raphael David Maklouf. To the left and right along the rim are inscriptions in English: 'ELIZABETH II' and 'COOK ISLANDS'. In the lower part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is the year of mintage: 1992.
