Obverse On the left side, following the curve of the rim, is the word 'BANK', and on the right side, the word 'RUSSIA'. Below is the year of minting '2001'. In the center is St. George the Victorious (with transverse folds on his cloak!) slaying a serpent with a long spear. Under the front left hoof of the horse is the abbreviation 'S•P' (Saint Petersburg Mint).
