Below the coat of arms, framed by heraldic roses, is the mint year '1944', above it the mint mark: 'S' - San Francisco, USA. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    In the central part of the coin, the left-facing profile of King George VI of Great Britain is struck. Along the arc of the coin's edge runs the Latin text 'GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F:D: IND: IMP.', which translates to 'GEORGE VI BY THE GRACE OF GOD KING OF ALL BRITAIN, DEFENDER OF THE FAITH, EMPEROR OF INDIA'. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
