Along the lower edge arc, the issuing country's name in English 'CANADA' and the inscription '20 DOLLARS'. In the central part, within an oval frame, is a portrait of aviation hero Wilfred T. Reid, plated in 24-karat gold. The portrait is depicted against the background of a Vickers Vedette aircraft.

Along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left 'ELIZABETH II', on the right 'D. G. REGINA', translated as 'Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen'; below, the mint year '1994' is flanked on both sides by raised dot elements. In the central part is the right-facing profile of the Queen.
