    The central part features the coat of arms of Ecuador: an oval shield depicting the Chimborazo volcano, the Guayas River, a ship, and above them a sun flanked by astrological signs; a condor with outstretched wings stands atop the shield; on either side are two flags of Ecuador, with a laurel branch to the left and a palm leaf to the right between the flags; fasces are below. Around the arms are inscriptions in Spanish: 'GRAM. 25' (25 grams), 'UN SUCRE' (1 sucre), the metal fineness '0.9', the mintmaster's initials 'T.F.', and below the mint mark 'LIMA'. Beneath the fasces on the flag are the Latin letters 'JR'. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    The central part features a left-facing profile of the Grand Marshal of Peru, Antonio José Francisco de Sucre y Alcalá. Inscriptions along the rim: to the left, top, and right, the country name in Spanish 'REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR' (Republic of Ecuador); at the bottom, the year of issue '1892'. The coin's edge is decorated with raised decorative denticles.
