    The central part features the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Spain. To the right and below the rim is an inscription in Latin: 'HISPAN.ET IND.REX.', which translates to 'King of Spain and the Indies'. Along the arc of the left edge of the coin are the Mexico City mint mark, the text '4R' for 4 reales, and 'F.M.'. The edge of the coin is decorated with denticles.
  • Obverse
    The central part features the right-facing profile of King Charles IV of Spain. To the left and right along the edge is the text: 'CAROLUS.IIII.DEI.GRATIA.', which translates from Latin as 'Charles IV by the grace of God'. In the lower part, along the arc of the coin's edge and separated by dots, is the year of mintage: 1792. The edge of the coin is decorated with denticles.
