    A central hole is surrounded by a Star of David. Along the left, top, and right rim is the English inscription: BRITISH WEST AFRICA. Along the lower rim, separated by dots, is the date of issue: 1919. The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of denticles.
  • Obverse
    Along the left and right rim is the text: 'GEORGIVS V REX ET IND: IMP:' (George V King and Emperor of India). A central hole is flanked left, top, and right by the English inscription: 'ONE HALFPENNY'. Above the inscription is a crown, and on either side are two decorative floral elements. Below the hole is the mint mark 'H' for the Heaton Mint in Birmingham (UK) and the Arabic inscription for ½ Penny: 'نُصْف پَنّي.'. The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of denticles.
