    In the central part, within an openwork circular frame, is a palm tree dividing the year of issue into two parts, with '19' on the left and '28' on the right (1928). Along the upper edge arc is 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA' and at the bottom 'TWO SHILLINGS' - 6 PENCE. The rim is decorated with ornamental denticles.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is the left-facing profile of King George V of Great Britain wearing a crown. Along the edge arc of the coin runs the Latin inscription '∙GEORGIVS V D. G. BRITT: OMN: REX F. D. IND: IMP:', which translates to 'GEORGE V BY THE GRACE OF GOD KING OF ALL THE BRITONS, DEFENDER OF THE FAITH, EMPEROR OF INDIA'. Below the portrait is a dot. The rim features decorative raised denticles.
