Obverse The center of the obverse features a double-headed eagle. Both heads of the eagle wear crowns, and a third, larger crown is placed between them. On the eagle's breast, under a crown and canopy, is the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Poland (a single-headed crowned eagle). In its right talon, the double-headed eagle holds a scepter and a sword, and in its left, an orb. Under the right talon is the initial 'K•', under the left talon is the initial 'G•'. These are the initials of mintmaster Karol Gronau.
