    The central part features a right-facing profile portrait of Liberty. Along the upper edge of the coin, from left to right, is the text 'REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI AN80', which translates from French as 'Republic of Haiti Year 80'. Below, from left to right, is the inscription '835 MILL. 1883. 125 GRAM', which indicates the date of issue and quality of execution: 125 grams of .835 fine silver. A decorative border of dots runs along the rim.

    Along the upper edge of the coin, from left to right, is the text – the republic's motto in French: 'LIBERTÉ EGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ', which translates to 'Liberty. Equality. Fraternity'. In the left part along the edge is the mintmark of the Paris Mint. The central part depicts the national coat of arms of the Republic of Haiti with a motto ribbon inscribed: 'L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE' – 'Strength in Unity'. In the lower part along the edge is the inscription '50 CENTes' ('50 centimes'). A decorative border of raised dots runs along the rim.
